My friend Eleri took this at the tea in the church hall after our friend Kath's funeral.  Helen and Lydia fight all the time, but they love each other too and this shows it.  There was a point at the end of the funeral when Lydi was crying (Kath was her godmother) and I, being a neglectful mother, hadn't noticed.  But big sister Helen had her arm round her giving her a cuddle.  It made me happy to see :-)

I spent the day here at a conference for support staff in schools.  Very interesting, and a generally good day.

March 23rd Lydia knitting

A kit I got free with a magazine to knit a "lucky pig".  Lydia is pig-crazy, so I gave it to her.

Much hilarity, lots of dropped stitches and much tearing out of hair on both our parts ensued.  (She can knit, but had never done anything involcing an actual pattern before.)  Still, she's made good progress so far.

(And so much for shirt and tie and blazer uniforms making kids look smart...)
